Harlequins RL's threadbare squad has received a further blow with the news Matt James has quit the club.
James, who was one of coach Brian McDermott's off-season signings, made three substitute appearances in the opening trio of Super League fixtures.
But the 22-year-old failed to settle in London and has been released by mutual consent after discussions with the club last week.
