Croydon Athletic boss Dave Garland has signed young striker Jeremiah Olusanya from League One side Colchester United.

The 18-year-old was released by the Us at the end of last season and Garland swooped to sign the pacy forward, who lives in Addington, ahead of Bishop's Stortford where he spent time on loan last season.

Manager Garland said: "It's brilliant. He's very quick and can play wide or play down the middle.

"He has been playing at Colchester but they didn't take him on as a pro. He's was at Bishops' Stortford for a bit last season where he scored quite a few goals.

"Stortford wanted him to sign but travelling from Addington to there twice a week is quite a lot. We have got two or three options up front now and he will be one of them. He's going to be in contention, very much so."

Olusanya, who made six appearances for Colchester reserves last season and scored five goals in 20 youth team games for them, will help fill the gap left by Rams top scorer moses Ademola, who moved to Brentford at the end of last season.

Garland added: "Losing Moses was a big blow but we couldn't stop him going into professional football. We have got two or three others we would like to get before the season kicks off so watch this space."
