Charity football: Kember has Chelsea in sights

12:21pm Thursday 15th December 2005

Diamond FC, the charity football team backed by Crystal Palace legend Steve Kember, announced they will be playing a Chelsea old boys XI next year.

Kember's men raise money for the British Heart Foundation by playing teams across south London.

After a successful year, where they raised £600, they hope to increase that figure by playing a number of local sides and a team made up of ex-Chelsea stars.

As well as Kember, Eagles legend Jim Cannon also represents Diamond FC, plus new Croydon Athletic manager Brian Sparrow and ex-Palace and Spurs defender Dean Austin.
