So another hike in council tax will be forced upon us while the council delivers less and less for our money.
There are no public toilets, our train stations and streets are unsafe, old people's homes and facilities for the disabled are being closed down perhaps because the council feels that if it targets the vulnerable they will protest less.
Maybe Councillor Tony Newman should be looking closer to home to reduce costs. I worked temporarily at the council after I was made redundant.
While I was there staff came in every day, made their coffee and breakfast, and talked about last night's TV. They did about an hour's work, went to the pub at lunchtime, spent the rest of the day complaining and drinking coffee and then went home.
The temps on the other hand, brought in because of the apparently heavy workload (it wasn't heavy, it just wasn't being done), were told to slow down.
I had never seen anything like it. Get rid of the final salary pensions, deal with the poor performance culture and stop wasting our money.
