One advantage of the several ways the Local Guardian gives it's readers to 'have their say' is that one is no longer dependent on winning the competition to appear in the print edition. One can
also ensure one can respond in any exchange of views without 'stewing' for a week and competing for the limited space in the printed edition.
This week I will take advantage of both facilities.
In a letter published a few weeks ago I criticised the 'Area Forum' as a means of communication and advocated the use of electronic communication in the form of the e-mail.
This week an alternative view was expressed defending the 'Area Forum'
and tracing it's origins back to the ancient world.
A response was demanded but one realises those other than the participants may have no further interest. The Guardian provides the answer.
I have sent my response as a Letter to the Editor, by e-mail of course. I will also post it under the relevant letter just as soon as this week’s letters appear in the Staines Guardian Letters
page of the web-site. One way or the other, perhaps both ways, I will have my say.
