Arriving in Edinburgh

By Paul Fleckney »

Oh Christ I'm turning into Carrie Bradshaw. Lying on a bed, kicking my legs in the air while I clack away on a laptop, occasionally gazing wistfully into the middle distance. Thank God I don't look like a velociraptor.

Welcome to my Edinburgh comedy blog, which will be a daily update on all things funny and excruciating at this year's Fringe Festival, who's got the best gags about Josef Fritzl and, of course, how south London's comics are faring in this annual comedic bear pit.

Once again I have been completely seduced by the train journey up here - Durham, Berwick upon Tweed and the bit after Berwick upon Tweed get me every time. So much so that I giddily walked off the train at Waverley station, into the pissing rain, with my umbrella left behind.

And a thank you to all of you at GNER for NOT BOTHERING TO HAND IT INTO LOST PROPERTY.

My irritation has been assuaged though by having a) an architecturally stunning city to walk around and b) some pretty top notch comedy to admire.
