I need to get out this evening, either that or I need to disappear into the bedroom. For if I don’t make myself scarce this evening, I will be subjected to two of the worst things to hit humanity since time began.
Last night I was put in a very awkward situation. Holly and myself were sat on the sofa watching a documentary about tsunamis on BBC Four.
I must have been tired this morning. I got up, made a cuppa, had a shower, dried myself and put my clothes on.
Holly was working on Saturday and I was off, so I was pretty much having a lazy day, on the sofa and catching up with my DVDs that I got for Christmas. That and stuffing myself rotten with scotch eggs and chocolate. To date, it was the best day that 2008 has had to offer me.
Well, Christmas and New Year are now over and 2008 is two days old. I’m back at work, slightly bored, listening to my ipod under flashing broken lights.
Every year, without fail, my nan would repeat those words to me, reminding me what a distressing time it is.
Well, our first Christmas together under the same roof is over and done with.
Saturday morning, I drop Holly off to work and decide to take a drive down to Kingston to go and pay a visit to Richer Sounds.
It amazes me how you can get interested in one thing and from that, you become instantly hooked to something else.
So, if tradition is to be believed, it is the season to be jolly. The decorations are up, the crap songs are on the radio and the roads are once again, jam packed.
