Officers from West Thornton Safer Neighbourhoods Team along with colleagues from Trading Standards, have launched a scheme where they are visiting local residents across the ward to offer crime prevention advice.

This week Safer Croydon agreed to two new dispersal orders. As of 14 February, dispersal orders in Thornton Heath and Upper Norwood, which includes a small part of Norbury, will come in to effect and last for a period of six months.

A new Safer Neighbourhoods base has opened in Thornton Heath, increasing police presence in the area as part of Operation Refresh, which is focusing on reducing crime in the wards of Thornton Heath, Selhurst, West Thornton, Bensham Manor and Broad Green.
