We were dismayed and very sorry to learn about the man who was killed by a lorry on a very busy, Wellesley Road on Thursday, October 16.
I feel that the problem lies in recent restructuring of Croydon bus station and diversions that has led huge amount of traffic influx in Wellesley Road.
Commuters have had to suffer dangerous driving conditions and pedestrians walking in this road in perhaps the worst two weeks in Croydon since the bus station closed and diversion granted by our transport managers in Croydon Council.
I blame Croydon Council for granting permission to businesses and companies who have misused the opportunity to delay and badly managed the restructure leading to chaos in Croydon in the past two weeks.
Another dangerous spot where someone may get killed is the road adjacent to Lunar House and the new 40-storey building on Croydon Road, as this is a blind spot.
I would like to express my sympathies to the family of the victim for their loss.
