On Thursday January 22 at 11.45am outside WHSmith North End Croydon, my friend aged 76 had a bad fall and it soon became clear that she was quite badly injured and unable to move.
I would like to thank the many kind people who came to her assistance during the long one-and-a- half hours laying on the cold pavement waiting for the ambulance.
From the young man on the Red Cross stand who phoned for the ambulance, Gary who first came to our aid and stayed with us the whole time, Simon from WH Smith who took his jacket off to put under her head and also stayed to help and especially to the two young ladies Lucy and Ras who at their own expense bought blankets to keep her warm.
Also to Jane from the static ambulance promoting non-smoking and the many other people who stopped to ask if they could help should also be mentioned.
My friend is now in the local hospital with a broken hip and wrist waiting for an operation.
Kind regards to you all
JULIE
