I almost died after giving birth to my third child at Mayday as I contracted a rare form of strep A (gas) during labour due to poor hygiene and being rushed into a room that was in the middle of cleaning.
Apparently in the old days midwives were screened for the disease, but as it was “eradicated”
in western society they no longer are.
I was put into isolation for 17 days where all attending staff had to wear masks and gloves etc and on a number of occasions missed changing IVs and administering my meds.
My mum had to remind them what they were supposed to give me, etc.
It was a total disaster, then they conveniently lost my notes when I complained.
