Perhaps I saw a different advert to Hassy Mooney (Your advert upset us, February 11).

But when I saw the front page of the Croydon Guardian (January 28) and the question Who is Muhammad? I was not offended.

Instead, I thought that this question could not be any more relevant to the society we are living in – a society that constantly misrepresents the Islamic faith.

The offer of a free copy of the Koran to those interested in learning about the Islamic faith is not, in my opinion, a religious advert, but a response to the letter David Cameron sent to the mosques in the United Kingdom.

According to our Prime Minister, the onus is on Muslims to explain how their faith is not opposed to British values.

When in reality, being better educated about what the different denominations of Muslims believe, about who Muhammad is, is not going to harm us.

Reading the Koran and knowing who Muhammad is can only help us in better understanding Muslims.

Perhaps then the penny will drop that not all Muslims are the same and that the representations of a worldwide faith, whose followers come from all walks of life, supposedly believing and acting in the same way is just ridiculous.
