I completely agree with the letter from Ann Menzies regarding binmen leaving behind such a mess (Your Say, March 11).

It is something I have complained about via the council website and although they claim to log the complaint there is never any change.

I am happy to pay my council tax for services, but I do find it a concern that they spend public money outsourcing to a contractor such as Veolia who really does not seem to care.

I have also had issues where they leave the bin right in front of our front exit.

When you are trying to get out of the house with children this is inconvenient and unnecessary.

Can they not place it back where it is left?

I queried when our road is cleaned, due to the litter left behind, and was told it is swept every Tuesday.

I do not believe this as I never see street cleaners in the road and pieces of litter stay on the street for weeks unless picked up by residents.

Why are Croydon Council paying Veolia? And more to the point spending our money for services that are not carried out?
