It does seem that some people will never be happy or pleased in life, whatever their lot may be.
It is sad and unedifying that Patrick Ratnaraja appears to be attacking his long-term friend, Councillor Andrew Pelling (Your Say, April 15).
Could this be the same Mr Ratnaraja who encouraged Coun Pelling to join the Labour Party, and is reported to have told him that Labour would never consider him for a winnable council seat? Why would you do this to Coun Pelling, Mr Ratnaraja?
Given Mr Ratnaraja’s reported record in Croydon Conservative circles, he will never be considered to contest a winnable council seat for the Tories – that is if the Tories will ever trust him in elected public office.
Somehow, I very much doubt it.
Perhaps the Coun Pelling attack is a way of currying favour with Mr Barwell and his supporters?
