I am sure you have heard about the Transatlantic Trade Investment Partnership (TTIP), but in case you have not, it is a dangerous trade deal being secretly negotiated between the EU and US.
Many citizens like myself are concerned about the implications of this deal and the conduct of politicians in trying to keep the negotiations secret from the general public.
The TTIP deal has the potential to allow large, multinational corporations to buy up some of our most vital services, like parts of the NHS.
Futhermore, the deal would also give big businesses the power to sue our Government if they do not like the laws that pro- tect all of us because they negatively affect their business.
Why would our Government allow such a deal to take place?
MEPs need to know that the public wants TTIP scrapped. They need to feel public pres- sure. There is an opportunity on June 10 for our UK politicians in Europe (MEPs) to scrap the worst parts of the deal.
I am calling on my MEP to vote against it and I think we should all be asking serious questions of our MEPs, MPs and anyone else with the power to affect the deal.
