It has been interesting these last few weeks reading the letters about Croydon the latest being the swingeing Council Tax increase.
In an earlier letter, I complained about the state of the litter and parking prices. The litter problem certainly has not improved, and the amount of parking tickets I have seen on vehicles parked in Bedford Park (central zone) on the last couple of Sundays beggars belief.
This has obviously caught out many people. No doubt some of these people have seen the light and will now take their business to nearby shopping centres namely Bromley and Kingston.
My wife and I did go to Bromley to shop a couple of weeks ago and what a welcome change it was, not to mention that parking in the multi-storey cost only 60p per hour (against Croydon's £1.50p per hour).
The only reason we went back to Croydon was that we had ordered items in the Whitgift that necessitated going back. Once this has been finalised, we will be taking our custom elsewhere, plus we are now actively looking to move out of the borough.
What has happened to the much heralded water feature at Thornton Heath Pond? All I see are ugly metal posts with no water.
It has been like this for many weeks now.
