In these hard times, when we are all looking to save money, I’d like to suggest our council does the same, to keep our council tax down.
In order to help them start this process I would like to suggest some things they could save money on.
My list of things to scrap would include:
❑ The road sign budget. We already have too many and I am convinced it is just a moneyspinner for a select few;
❑ Translations services. No other country goes to such expense. By all means offer it at a price to those who want it;
❑ Publications from the council that are blatant propaganda;
and
❑ Gold-plated pensions that the rest of us have to finance.
