It was pleasing to know Croydon Central MP Andrew Pelling does not accept an allowance like some MPs who live in an outer London suburb and claim for an inner London home.

I hope Mr Pelling takes on his “old comrades” in the Conservatives as an independent at the next election.

Can we have an assurance from those who aspire to represent us in Parliament next time that they do not see it as a cash cow to be milked for all it is worth.
