So Croydon’s parking boss has found out what everyone in Croydon always knew – that the council’s parking policies were thoroughly bad.
The neighbouring boroughs too were quick to see this and introduced free parking to attract more Croydon shoppers.
At every opportunity available the people and businesses of Croydon impressed upon the councillors that the council’s punitive policies were doing long term harm to the town but it fell on deaf ears.
To top it all people blame cynicism and their civic pride in the town was diminished, as every household seemed to have a horror story about parking tickets.
The sad thing is it does not look like anything is going to change much. The system needs a complete overhaul.
