To help raise funds for Children In Need, a local opticians in Croydon will be holding a Pudsey-themed day on Friday 16 November full of fun for all ages.

Staff at Specsavers, located at 112 North End, Croydon will be in fancy dress and customers can take part in a raffle, a cake sale and a name the bear competition.

Specsavers Croydon event manager, Alison Storey, says: ‘Everyone at the store is very excited about our upcoming fundraising day, as it is a great way to involve the whole community in such a fantastic cause.

‘This year we have also arranged for a face painter to be in store from 1.30pm for anyone who really wants to get into the spirit of the day.’ Raffle tickets for the event are on sale now at 25p a ticket, or five for £1, with all proceeds going to the charity. Prizes that have been donated, include a three-course meal for two at Albert’s Table in South Croydon, two tickets to Jongleurs comedy night at Tiger Tiger, 10 tickets for Lazer Tag at the London Trocadero and 4 Ball Golf at Addington Court.

Since its inception on Christmas Day 1927, as a five-minute radio broadcast, Children In Need has raised more than £600 million through the generosity and fundraising events of the public.
