In a cheeky move which would leave most teachers somewhat baffled, a young student decided to turn his nose up at a mock exam and instead partake in a little banter with his teacher by writing out the names of Crystal Palace players and then drawing a picture of Selhurst Park.

16-year-old Daniel Hall sat down for his Philosophy and Ethics exam and instead of discussing his GCSE course content, he chose to write out Crystal Palace players’ names on one page, before taking the opportunity to demonstrate his artistic side by doodling a picture of Crystal Palace’s stadium on the next page.

Whilst this would be a move which a teacher would not ordinarily approve of, matters were made worse by virtue of the fact that the Warwick School pupil’s teacher happened to support Palace’s arch rivals, Brighton and Hove Albion.

Needless to say, the reaction was not a particularly positive one.

In his end of year report, the teacher wrote "Obviously, having failed to test his ability, it’s hard to give advice on how to improve."

It was too good an opportunity to miss for the youngster, with Brighton losing to Palace in last season’s play-off semi final; rubbing salt in the wounds of his teacher was light hearted and caught the attention of many Palace fans on twitter, but of course it is not something which should be encouraged unless a trip to the headteacher’s office is desirable!
