Bowling at Coulsdon Memorial Ground isn't just for older players any more.
The Friends of Marlpit Lane Bowling Green are pleased to announce that their "Cans for Children's Bowls" campaign has been an outstanding success. After collecting several thousand cans and with the help of generous donors, the first two sets of Junior Ace bowls have been purchased earlier than expected. Meant for players aged 8-12, the Junior Ace bowls are exact scaled-down replicas of adult bowls, allowing players to get into the game far earlier than before.
The can campaign is still underway, with the Friends collecting aluminium drinks cans for recycling by a local firm. The campaign aims to purchase two further sets over the summer to allow a full four-player game. Please bring your aluminium cans to the bowling pavilion when it reopens on 19th April, or throughout the summer, to help raise funds.
