Blue Skies, Sunshine, 200 Rainbows and not a Raindrop in sight On Saturday 24th April over 200 Rainbows and their leaders descended on Frylands Wood Campsite in Croydon and had a wonderful “Rainbows Go Wild - Down at the Farm” Centenary Fun Day. The girls dressed as Cows, Ducks, Pigs and Sheep and had an exciting “Hunt the Lost Animals Trail” with clues that revealed a message, a wild time singing, doing crafts and visiting the Kidsrome Travelling Farm Animals and the Birds of Prey.
Chester the European Eagle Owl was a big hit with the Rainbows.
Megan, aged 7 was heard to say “.. I think it is really fun, I really want to see the animals. my favourite animals are cows and horses, my auntie has a horse”.
Also overheard, “Are you enjoying rainbows?” “I told you it is the best thing ever”.
“Can we have a Fun Day every year?”.
Every person there was presented with a special badge, to commemorate the day, designed by 8 Rainbows who were also presented with a prize for their designs.
A huge thank you to the Guiders that gave of their time over the past year planning the event and all those non-Rainbow Guiders that came and helped on the day, we hope you all had fun too.
