Help the Aged is looking runners in this year's Flora London Marathon to join its popular running team, The Buzzers', to raise money to help support the charity's Enough is Enough' campaign which aims to tackle elder abuse.

In addition to supporting this vital cause, participants can enjoy a host of benefits through running for the charity.

With thousands participating in April's marathon, running for Help the Aged will make a huge difference to the lives of 500,000 older people who are believed to be abused at any one time in the UK.

To say thank you to its runners, the charity will provide an invitation to the exclusive post-race reception, with a complimentary massage, refreshments and a goody bag.

Friends and family will also be able join the runners in their post-race celebrations at the reception.

Miranda Harman, Help the Aged events fundraiser, said: "All of our runners are mentored in the lead-up to the race, and receive tailored training plans, regular newsletters and a dedicated Help the Aged representative to give guidance or answer any questions.

"Our fundraising pack provides inspiration and assistance, and although there is no sponsorship target for own place runners, money raised will go towards helping fund the Action on Elder Abuse response line for sufferers of elder abuse and those who suspect it."

The Buzzers will also receive discounts on sportswear and free gait analysis, as well as several freebies, including a Help the Aged t-shirt for training and a dry-fit Help the Aged running vest for the race.

Friends, family and supporters will also be invited to join the much coveted Help the Aged cheering points.
