Young reporter: Are we at 'Tipping Point'?

11:25am Thursday 30th October 2014

Fly tipping is an illegal deposit of waste onto land or any waste dumped or tipped on a site with no license to accept waste”. It is also against the law, so why are people still carrying out this offence? It could be because they don’t have a permit (normally issued annually by your local council upon payment of council tax), or is it simply because the can get away with it due to lack of enforcement of heavy fines? In some areas of New Malden, perhaps amongst the transient population, when moving house, leave behind unwanted possessions without disposing of them responsibly. A public waste bin opposite my house was surrounded by unwanted household waste such as ironing boards, chests of drawers and garden rubbish. The responsibility to deal with the rubbish falls to local residents who then have to contact their local authority to have the rubbish removed.

Young Reporter: So, what does it take to be a Superhero?

Croydon Guardian:

Comic books, anime and manga- nerd culture has been becoming increasingly popular with teenagers and young adults today. And who can blame them? With season eight of 'The Big Bang Theory' currently airing on E4, Gotham on channel 5 and the likes of Superman, Professor X and Luke Skywalker being immortalised on the silver screen- they've got those kick-ass heroes that can blow our minds (and their enemies) out of the water.
