The United Republic of Tanzania are interested in women’s empowerment throughout the societies and the government of Tanzania and Non Government Organizations are empowering women in all aspects of social, political and economic life.
The effort made by our government to empower women means that they will be given equal access to participate in decision making. Women are now included in decisions making especially inheritance of properties and marriage. Strengthening the legal system is aimed at elimination of forms of discrimination against women including female circumcision, forced marriages and child labour within the societies.
Changing men’s attitudes means that women who would normally marry young can also get the opportunity to continue their education and there are different organizations who are fighting against this discrimination so much so that the wife of the United Republic of Tanzania is also involved. There were special seats from our national assembly that were given to women in order to help them to know their rights.
