Hi I'm doing some research into WW2 Coastal Forces boats and have a photo of myself and my sister, Teresa, from about 1956 (I would have been about 7 and my sister 5 or 6) taken at Walton on Thames. My Uncle and Aunt ran an optician's in Bridge Street for many years (Hawes) and when visiting from our house in Northwood, Middlesex, a highlight would be a walk along the Thames footpath to see the various boats on the river! Does anyone have any recollection of the two Coastal Forces (or RAF?) boats in the background of the photo? They look like ex-British Powerboat Company MTBs/MGBs or Air-Sea Rescue launches. Names and what happened to them would be wonderful!
Many Thanks Tim Deacon Based on information supplied by Tim Deacon.
