Former PR guru Max Clifford has been charged with a historic indecent assault.
Clifford, 72, formerly of Onslow Road, Hersham, was charged today with one offence against a woman over the age of 16 which took place between 1981 and 1982.
He was arrested in March at Littlehey Prison, Peterborough, where he is currently serving an eight year sentence after being jailed last May.
Baljit Ubhey, chief crown prosecutor for CPS London, said: “Having completed our review, we have concluded that there is sufficient evidence and it is in the public interest for Mr Clifford to be charged with one offence of indecent assault.“
Clifford remains in custody and will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, July 21.
