A man has handed himself into police after another man was stabbed in the chest on Saturday (November 25).

Police were called at 11.32am to Towpath Way, Croydon, following reports of a person being stabbed.

However by the time police arrived, a 25-year-old man had already been driven by car to a south London hospital, say police.

A police spokesman said: "The man is currently being treated in hospital; his injuries are not thought life changing or threatening.

"A 20-year-old man handed himself in to a south London police station on Sunday, November 26 and was arrested in connection with the inquiry.

"He has been bailed pending further investigation to return in December."

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed a disturbance in Towpath Way near the junction of Davidson Road at around 11:30 am to come forwards with any information that may assist with this investigation.
