A man has been taken to hospital after a “serious” assault in Leatherhead.
The incident happened in Cleeve Road at around 11.30pm yesterday (April 21).
Officers were called to the scene and a man was found seriously injured.
He has since been taken to hospital for treatment where he remains.
Cleeve Road is currently closed at the junction with Randals Crescent as the incident is being dealt with.
A spokesperson for Surrey Police said: “We are currently dealing with a serious assault which occurred in #Leatherhead last night (21 April).
“Officers were called to Cleeve Road around 11.30pm following reports of a man who had been left with serious injuries.
“He has been taken to hospital. The road is currently closed at the junction with Randals Crescent while we carry out further enquiries and we are asking motorists to avoid the area for the time being.
