Hundreds of flowers and tributes have been laid at the scene where Mark Gurney died.

Friends held a candlelit vigil and fireworks on Saturday night in tribute to the generous boy who loved hanging out with his friends.

One of his best friends Danny Spencer, 18, said: “He was a generous and kind boy who loved riding bikes. Like his mother said, he died doing what he loved.

“When he got on the bike he liked it just for fun.

“He had his own business and everything a 19-year-old could ever want.

“He loved his sister – she was his best mate. He loved his whole family, they meant the world to him.”

Hundreds of people have joined a Facebook tribute site dedicated to Mr Gurney’s memory.
