Addiscombe 134 (All out)
Ripley 136-1
(Ripley won by nine wickets)

Addiscombe continued their losing start to their Surrey Championship division four campaign, after a poor batting display gifted Riply the win.

After losing the toss, Addiscombe found themselves batting first for the first time this season. Against a steady opening attack of Managei and Stedman, the Addiscombe batsman gave a very poor batting display with most batsmen getting out to wildly ambitious shots after looking comfortable at the crease. Ian Messom top scored with 22, while a spirited late stand of over 30 from the Boudville brothers enabled Addiscombe to reach three figures.

After 42 overs, Addiscombe were all out for 134 with Managei finishing with 3-56 and Stedman 3-35.

The Ripley openers of Deacon and Matt Counsell, the Ripley overseas player, soon found scoring easy against a rather untidy Addiscombe bowling attack.

The opening partnership rapidly reached three figures before Deacon was caught off the bowling of Kevin Boudville.

At the close, Counsell was left 92 not out after a very aggressive innings aided by some sloppy Addiscombe fielding.

Greater application is needed if relegation is to be avoided.
