A mum of two has won a competition with her knowledge of Selsdon.
Debbie Markley won the battle of the boroughs competition on radio station Heart’s breakfast show.
The Selsdon resident beat 29 other contestants from London and the Home Counties to win the battle of the boroughs trophy and £1,000.
Debbie had to answer 10 questions as quickly as possible and managed to get them all correct in just under 28 seconds.
After being told she’d won, Debbie said: “I’m so pleased, thank you so much guys. It’s been great. I’m going to get myself a crown!”
Host Jamie Theakston said: “Congratulations to you, Debbie. Enjoy spending your £1,000 and more importantly, enjoy being our Battle of the Boroughs Champion 2011. You are the Pride of Selsdon.”
Debbie is no stranger to the limelight. Years ago, she was awarded a Blue Peter badge when her school choir appeared on the BBC children’s show and more recently she was a contestant on ITV1’s The Cube, hosted by Philip Schofield.
