Player ratings from Crystal Palace's 2-0 defeat to Liverpool...
Wayne Hennessey – 6 – Made routine saves and his distribution was superb.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 6 – Won a one v one race between himself and Sadio Mane. Not many full-backs can do that. But his 75th-minute red card ruined Palace’s chances of scoring an equaliser.
James Tomkins – 7 – Kept Roberto Firmino quiet and led by example from the back.
Mamadou Sakho – 5 – He conceded the soft penalty on Mohamed Salah, which James Milner converted. It was clumsy defending.
Patrick van Aanholt – 7 – Always looked threatening going forward and put in some dangerous crosses.
Andros Townsend – 6 – So unlucky to see his long-range strike rattle off the crossbar in the first-half. Did not do much else, though.
Luka Milivojevic – 7 – Kept Palace ticking in midfield. Had a free-kick excellently saved by Alisson.
James McArthur – 6 – He is the engine room in midfield and used the ball smartly.
Jeffrey Schlupp – 4 – He was barely involved in the game. Failed to replicate his solid display against Fulham last weekend.
Wilfried Zaha – 7 – He was Palace’s most dangerous player, unsurprisingly. Every time he got the ball it felt like something was going to happen.
Christian Benteke – 5 – Won most of his aerial battles but was marshalled by Virgil van Dijk.
Subs:
Alexander Sorloth – 4
Joel Ward – 4
Max Meyer - N/A
