Neil Harris has explained why he opted to start new Millwall signing Tom Bradshaw ahead of captain Steve Morison in the defeat to Queens Park Rangers.

The striker was the only change made to the starting 11 which drew against Leeds United before he was withdrawn at half-time for the skipper.

Massimo Luongo got QPR in front before former Millwall player youth Ebere Eze, who was released from the club two years ago, scored minutes later.

When asked why he chose to start Bradshaw up front with Lee Gregory, Harris said: “I just thought they had worked quite a lot as a pair over the international break and looked really good.

“We looked a good team in practice sessions. I thought they looked good on Saturday [against Leeds] when they played together for 15, 20 minutes and we wanted to get down the sides of QPR and move the ball quickly.

“It just didn't happen in the first-half.”

Millwall failed to register a shot on target until Morison was introduced in the second-half, when he rifled the ball at Joe Lumley.

It’s their fourth defeat in five Championship games, with the club now just a point away from the drop as they take on West Bromwich Albion this weekend.
