A Karlan Grant brace saw Charlton secure a fourth successive league win after beating Plymouth 2-1 at the Valley.
The 21-year-old forward cancelled out Graham Carey’s opener before Lyle Taylor missed a penalty in an action-packed first-half.
Both sides hit the woodwork in the second-half but Grant struck in the 88th minute to send the Valley faithful home happy.
Here is how News Shopper rated Charlton’s players…
Jed Steer - 5 - Made his first save in second-half injury-time. Couldn’t do anything about Carey’s header.
Chris Solly - 8 - Won the first-half penalty and made important blocks for his side.
Naby Sarr - 7 - His distribution was typically brilliant. Defended well.
Jason Pearce - 7 - Solid as usual. Didn't put a foot wrong.
Lewis Page - 5 - His delivery wasn't up to his usual standards and was often caught out of position.
Ben Reeves - 8 - Gave Joel Grant too much time to pick out Carey for the opener but improved as the game went on. Controlled Charlton’s midfield.
Josh Cullen - 7 - An impressive home debut from the West Ham loanee. Doesn't shy away from a tackle.
Joe Aribo - 6 - Held on to the ball for too long at times. Decision-making wasn't great.
Jamie Ward - 6 - Worked very hard off the ball and put in a few dangerous crosses.
Lyle Taylor - 7 - Missed the penalty but his all-round performance was superb. Brings his team-mates into play so often.
Karlan Grant - 9 - Scored his fourth and fifth goals of the season and looked lively throughout the afternoon. Charlton’s man of the match.
Subs:
Igor Vetokele - 5
