Crystal Palace are set to make a “major” announcement on plans for a new stadium.

The club have been talking about a move away from Selhurst Park, and Eagles chairman Steve Parish believes significant progress has been made.

Parish said: "Everyone knows we've been working very hard for a long time to try and get the right idea.

"We think we now have got it so, this side of Christmas, there will be a major announcement.

"When I came into this thing the aim was to give something for all of us to be proud of on the pitch and very importantly off the pitch, so we want to give everybody, the people of Croydon, all of south London, a stadium that we can be proud of, and not lose our atmosphere and our uniqueness.

"That's a dream for me, a lifelong dream for me, and one that hopefully everybody will share with me when they see what we have put together.

"So, fantastic exciting times, and something to look forward to."
