Police appeal after pensioner hit by car dies
Police are appealing for witnesses following the death of a pensioner who was hit by a car.
Clive McFarlane was hit close to Elephant and Castle station
Clive McFarlane was knocked down on the Elephant and Castle round about near the tube station on May 2, at about 7.25pm.
The 71-year-old who is from the South Norwood area, was taken to hospital for treatment, but he died from his injuries in hospital on May 19.
An inquest into his death has been opened and adjourned at Southwark Coroner's Court.
The driver of the car involved, a grey Vauxhall Zafira, stopped at the scene.
No arrests have been made and inquiries continue.
Officers from the Road Death Investigation Unit are investigating and ask anyone who witnessed the collision, or the events leading up to the crash, to contact them on 0208 285 1574.
